The project Cartorural for the development of its objectives is mainly supported by two bases that constitute the operational strategy of the project:

First, the technical platform that provides infrastructure support, software, communications and channels of access to the various tools and project developments. It should be noted not only the technical and technological resources in particular, but also the set of procedures, methodologies and work teams and the organization necessary for the production and publication of geographical solutions and services to the territories covered by the project.

Moreover, the project is developing a program of promotion, training and integration of the services created in the project not directed only to social and economic institutions of the territories, but also to the general public and government local public.

Overall, the project makes available both to the institutions themselves as to the territorial areas of action, a technology platform capable of delivering content and geographic component solutions at different levels and topics such as:

  • Environment
  • Tourism
  • Planning and territory management
  • Training Tools
  • Work equipment specialist
  • Solutions territorial GIS and 3D environments
  • Among others economic-interest solutions

This not only about creating value and training for people and rural areas, but following the INSPIRE European Directive also seeks to make available universal mapping data and served in this case from rural areas in their own cultural and natural environment and in contact with their own reality and constantly updated.

The project is supported by seven local action groups in Castille and Leon and Navarre, and has the initial collaboration of the ASAM entity acting equally in a rural area homogeneous.

The advantage of cooperation involves the realization of a common project that will develop under different conditions and variables in each of the participating territories. Although all share a common baseline, methodology and objectives.
